On hardware from CCELL, a company that makes vape parts, a half gram disposable weed pen gives about 100 draws of 3 seconds each. A 1 gram pen gives about twice that, so around 200.
How many days that lasts depends on how often you use it and how long each draw is.
CCELL says its hardware turns about 5 mg of oil into vapor with each 3 second draw. At that rate, a half gram tank empties in about 100 draws.
Most tanks on our pen wall are between half a gram and two grams. The tank size is on the label, and a bigger tank gives more draws.
For a 1 gram pen with 3 second draws, the days work out like this:
Long draws. A 6 second pull uses about twice the oil of a 3 second one, going by CCELL’s rate. Short, easy draws get you the most out of a tank.
The oil. CCELL lists the type of oil as a factor in how many draws a tank gives, next to how long each draw lasts.
A dead battery. A pen with no charging port can die before the oil does. When that happens, the rest of the oil goes in the bin with it.
Most of the disposables on our wall are rechargeable now, with a port on the bottom. Raw Garden’s all in one pens, for example, charge with a USB-C cable.
Heat. A hot car thins the oil, and thin oil can leak past the seal. Store your pen upright at room temperature.
If the pen lights up but the vapor is thin or tastes burnt, the tank is likely done. If your pen has a window, check the oil line.
If nothing happens when you draw and the pen has a port, charge it first and try again.
Do not try to refill a disposable. CCELL says its all in one pens are filled by machine and should be thrown away once the oil is used up.
A disposable has a battery inside, so take it to a battery drop off point instead of the kitchen trash.
A disposable suits a first purchase, a trip inside California or light use. There is nothing to match up and nothing else to buy.
If you vape most days, a battery and cartridges often cost less over time. Our post on vape cartridges vs disposable vapes compares the two side by side.
