Counter 04

Disposable vapes.

Charged, filled and ready out of the box.

A disposable is the whole thing in one piece: tank, battery and mouthpiece, nothing to screw together and nothing to buy alongside it.

Why people pick them

One piece, nothing to match up.

The simplest thing on the wall.

A cartridge needs a battery that fits it. A disposable does not need anything, which is most of the appeal.

They arrive charged and full. You draw on the mouthpiece and that is the whole operation. There is no thread to match, no battery to charge the night before, and nothing to leave at home by accident.

That makes them the easy first cannabis purchase, and the easy one to travel with inside California. It also makes them the one people buy on a Friday when the battery at home is flat.

Most of ours are rechargeable now, with a port on the bottom, so you can finish the tank rather than losing the last of it to a dead cell. The product line on the menu says which are and which are not.

What to look at on the label

  • Tank size. Usually half a gram to two grams. It is the honest way to compare two pens.
  • Rechargeable or not. A port on the bottom means you will finish what you paid for.
  • Live resin or distillate. The same split as cartridges. Flavour, or evenness and price.
  • Strain and terpenes. Printed on the menu next to the THC figure, and more useful than it.
Side by side

Disposable against cartridge.

Both are the same oil in a different container. The difference is what else you have to own.

Buying one

Three things to check first.

01

Tank size

Half a gram to two grams is the usual range. Compare that before you compare anything else.

02

Rechargeable?

A charging port on the bottom means the battery will outlast the oil, which is what you want.

03

Resin or distillate

Flavour first, or evenness and price first. The menu labels every pen.

The pen you can actually finish is the better buy.

A non rechargeable pen with a big tank is a gamble: if the cell dies first, the rest of the oil goes in the bin with it. Rechargeable pens have quietly taken over our wall for exactly that reason, and the menu tells you which is which before you pay for either.
Before you buy

Questions about disposable vapes.

Anything about a specific product is answered fastest by the store that has it on its shelf.

What is a disposable vape?

The tank, the battery and the mouthpiece in one sealed piece. Nothing to screw together and no separate battery to buy.

Can I recharge one?

Many of ours have a charging port on the bottom, which lets you finish the tank. The menu says which do.

How is it different from a cartridge?

A cartridge is only the tank and needs a battery that fits it. A disposable is the whole device.

Which is better for a first purchase?

A disposable, most of the time. There is nothing to match up and nothing else to buy.

Do all four stores carry the same pens?

No. Each room buys its own wall. Check the menu for the store you are heading to.
